Jeff Gordon commemorative site
My responsibilities were to add motion and “to go crazy.”
But, no one should approach web motion like that. So my solution was to create animate-on effects, for each headline, and customize each in such a way that the motion adds to or reinforces the message.
I worked with a designer who calls himself Chris Allen and frontend developer who wants you to call him Cavs. I got designs and custom typography vector files from Chris, started sketching out the motion with After Effects, and then rebuilt and finessed with GSAP. Ultimately handed off to Cavs to integrate with the rest of the build. Might I just say that this site is fast as hell, props to Cavs. It keeps a rock solid 60fps, even though we had to serve up 60+ Mbs.
